A Rare Encounter: Frogfish Spotted in Cozumel!

During one of our morning dives with Aldora Divers, our team and guests spotted a frogfish perfectly camouflaged among the reef!

What Makes the Frogfish So Fascinating?

Frogfish belong to the anglerfish family. Instead of swimming around to hunt, they wait patiently and use a tiny lure on their heads to attract prey.When the moment is right, they strike in less than a second — one of the fastest movements in the animal kingdom!

Their body colors and textures help them disappear completely into sponges or corals. That’s why spotting one feels like winning the underwater lottery.

Thanks to the sharp eyes of our divemasters and some lucky timing, our guests captured amazing photos of this rare creature.
