BLACKWATER DIVE
Blackwater diving is an advanced scuba diving activity that takes place at night over very deep water and is regarded as “Bottomless diving”.
Blackwater Divers do not use a “tether system” and free drift in the open ocean at night.
Divers must possess an Advanced Diver certification from a recognized agency with no less than 50 logged dives and hold valid DAN or other diving accident insurance.
All interested divers must be approved by the dive shop prior to Blackwater diving, and proven to have good buoyancy practices.
We have guaranteed Blackwater dives departing every Thursday evening from our downtown dock. *Weather Permitting*
BLACKWATER DIVE
Unlike a night dive cruising along the reef with a torch, blackwater focuses on finding unique creatures in the water column attracted from the deep by high-powered light sources that simulate the moon.
We drop these light sources on a downline over deep water and wait for creatures to be attracted to the lights.
What is the cost?
Our Blackwater dives are 2040 mxn pesos per person,
not including 16% IVA tax.
